US Commander Assures Commitment to Defense of S. Korea

A top U.S. general visiting South Korea has reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to defending the country against growing threats from North Korea.
Commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, General John Hyten, gave assurances during a meeting with Defense Minister Song Young-moo at the ministry in central Seoul on Monday.
He added Washington will also do its best to effectively offer strategic assets and missile defense means not only for the U.S. but also its allies.
The U.S. Strategic Command handles the management of American strategic weapons such as intercontinental ballistic missiles(ICBM) and long-range strategic bombers as well as missile defense systems.
