The National Intelligence Service(NIS) says North Korea remains capable of conducting another nuclear test at any time if its leadership decides to do so.
 
The NIS sent a text message to reporters on Monday night, correcting a report that the North has completed preparations to carry out a nuclear test.
 
The spy agency explained that North Korea is keeping tunnels ready to carry out a nuclear test any time with brief preparations if its leader Kim Jong-un makes a decision.
 
A ruling Democratic Party lawmaker had earlier said that the NIS reported to the parliamentary intelligence committee on Monday that preparations for a nuclear test were complete at the No. 2 and 3 tunnels at the North’s Punggye-ri nuclear test site.
