Seoul’s Foreign Ministry says the U.N. Security Council(UNSC) will hold an emergency meeting to discuss North Korea’s latest ballistic missile launch.
 
The ministry’s spokesman Cho June-hyuck said the urgent UNSC meeting, requested jointly by South Korea, the U.S. and Japan, will be held in New York on Tuesday afternoon local time.
 
Cho said the South Korean government and UNSC members are closely discussing their response to the North’s latest provocation, calling it a clear violation of the council’s resolutions.
 
He also said the top nuclear envoys of Seoul and Washington will hold telephone talks later on Tuesday, but said there was no plan yet regarding possible telephone talks between the leaders of the two countries.
