N. Korea Forewarns More Missile Launch in the Pacific

Following an intermediate range ballistic missile(IRBM) launch which flew over Japan on Tuesday, North Korea has forewarned of continued missile launches toward the Pacific.

According to the North's official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) on Wednesday, leader Kim Jong-un said the test firing of the Hwasong-12 ballistic rocket was the first step in his nation's military operations in the Pacific Ocean.

The young leader made the remark while inspecting Tuesday's launch.

Adding that the missile test was a "meaningful prelude" to containing the U.S. island territory of Guam, Kim said the North would be conducting more ballistic rocket launching drills with the Pacific as a target in the future.

The remarks are believed to hint at the regime’s intentions to further expand its military provocations toward Japan and the Pacific region including Guam.
