US Deploys F-35B Stealth, B-1B Bombers to Korean Peninsula

The U.S. deployed a squadron of F-35B stealth jets and B-1B Lancer bombers Thursday in response to North Korea’s firing of a missile over Japan on Tuesday.
Four F-35B fighters from Japan and two long-range B-1B Lancer bombers flying in from Guam conducted a joint flying exercise with four South Korean F-15K jet fighters and an air-to-surface firing drill over Gangwon Province.
A U.S. KC-135 aerial refueling Stratotanker was also involved in the drill.
It's the first time the U.S. has deployed both B-1B Lancer and F-35B aircraft to the Korean Peninsula simultaneously, signaling U.S. willingness to pressure the North with strategic military assets.
