South Korean fire authorities have received a number of tremor calls from across the nation following an artificial earthquake in North Korea on Sunday, which is presumed to be from the North’s sixth nuclear test.

The National Fire Agency said that as of 3 p.m. Sunday, a total of 31 calls about the tremor were received, including 13 from Seoul, nine from Gyeonggi Province, four from Incheon, three from Gangwon Province and two from Chungcheong Province.

Ten of the 13 calls in Seoul were reportedly received over a period of about ten minutes after an artificial quake was detected in northern North Korea at 12:29 p.m.

South Korea’s weather agency announced at 12:38 p.m. that a five-point-seven magnitude quake was detected at 12:29 p.m. around the North’s Punggye-ri nuclear test site in North Hamgyeong Province.
