S. Korea Holds Ballistic Missile Drill in Response to N. Korea's Nuke Test

The South Korean military on Monday conducted a combined live-fire exercise in response to North Korea's sixth nuclear test a day earlier.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff(JCS) said that the Army and the Air Force conducted a joint missile exercise early on Monday to send a strong warning against the North’s nuclear test.

The training involved the country's Hyunmoo 2A surface-to-surface ballistic missile and F-15K fighter jets.

The JCS said that the Hyunmoo missile and the F-15K's long-range air-to-ground missile accurately hit designated targets in the East Sea.

The drill is the first military response from the South Korean military after the JCS strongly condemned the North's nuclear test and warned of military actions against the provocation.
