S. Korea, US Discussing Military Measures over N. Korea's Nuke Test

Top South Korean and U.S. military officers are reportedly discussing military measures against North Korea following its latest nuclear test.

A military official in Seoul said on Monday that chairman of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff(JCS) Jeong Kyeong-doo and Commander of the U.S. Forces Korea(USFK) Vincent Brooks are discussing strong military actions as a show of force against the North’s latest provocation.

On Sunday, the JCS chief spoke to his U.S. counterpart General Joseph Dunford on the phone and agreed to swiftly prepare "effective military responses" to the provocation.

The U.S. is reportedly mulling deploying its strategic assets to Korea, such as F-22 and F-35B fighter jets, strategic B-1B and B-52 bombers, the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and nuclear-powered submarines.
