N. Korea: Will Respond to Sanctions in its Own Way

North Korea has criticized the UN Security Council(UNSC) for moving to adopt new sanctions against it, warning that it will respond to the move in its own way.

A spokesperson for the North Korean Foreign Ministry issued the warning on Tuesday during an interview with the North's official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA).

The spokesperson said that under the lead of the U.S., the UNSC is working to slap new sanctions on the North over its hydrogen bomb test for an intercontinental ballistic missile.

The spokesperson noted that it would be a great miscalculation if the U.S. believes it could surprise or change North Korea by imposing despicable sanctions and pressure in the areas of politics, economy or military.

The UNSC launched discussions to produce fresh sanctions against the North over the latest nuclear test on Sunday. It plans to circulate a new resolution this week and seek a vote next Monday.
