Putin Calls for Restraint, Diplomatic Solution to N. Korean Nuclear Issue

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for restraint in dealing with North Korea following its recent nuclear test.
After meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in in Vladivostok on Wednesday, Putin stressed that sanctions and pressure alone will not solve the current situation on the Korean Peninsula.
During their joint press conference, the Russian leader urged all concerned parties to avoid being carried away by emotions and going down a dead-end road with the North, and warned against taking measures that can further escalate tensions in the region.
Putin expressed a negative view on ongoing efforts at the U.N. Security Council(UNSC) to impose tougher sanctions on Pyongyang and said the issue will be impossible to solve without political and diplomatic means.
