Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says China agrees that the U.N. Security Council(UNSC) should take further measures against North Korea following its recent nuclear test.

Wang made the remark during a joint press conference with Nepalese Foreign Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara following their meeting in Beijing on Thursday.

Wang added, however, that sanctions and pressure are only half of the key to resolving the North Korean issue, adding that dialogue and negotiation are also necessary.

The U.S. has been calling for tougher U.N. sanctions on the North, including cutting oil supplies to the regime, to punish it for carrying out its sixth nuclear test on Sunday.
