EU Launches Discussion of New Tougher Sanctions on N. Korea

The European Union(EU) has launched a discussion about new sanctions on North Korea in line with the international community's calls for increasing pressure on Pyongyang for its continued nuclear and missile provocations.
The European External Action Service(EEAS) said that EU foreign ministers on Thursday launched a discussion about further sanctions against the North during a closed session in the Estonian capital of Tallinn.
The EU’s top diplomat Federica Mogherini told reporters before the meeting that she would propose to strengthen the economic pressure on North Korea, to support a new UN Security Council resolution adopting tougher economic measures, and to start new autonomous EU sanctions.
She said that the EU will work with other partners in the world to make sure that everybody implements fully and strictly the already-decided economic measures.
