S. Korea, US: N. Korea Fired Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile
South Korean and U.S. military authorities have presented an initial assessment that the North Korean projectile that flew over Japan into the Pacific Ocean on Friday was an intermediate range ballistic missile(IRBM).
The South Korean military said the missile flew over northern Japan before falling into the Pacific Ocean and did not pose a threat to the U.S. territory island of Guam.
The U.S. Defense Department added that the North Korean missile had posed no threat to North America.
