VOA: Kuwait Reduces N. Korean Diplomats, Stops Visa Issuance for N. Koreans

Kuwait has reportedly decided to reduce the number of North Korean diplomats serving in the country and stop issuing new visas for North Koreans.
The Voice of America (VOA) said on Saturday that in the report to the United Nations Security Council, Kuwait said it has decided to cut the number of North Korean diplomats accredited to the country to four from the current nine in line with UNSC Resolution 2321 adopted last year to punish Pyongyang’s fifth nuclear test.
The move will deport five North Korean diplomats, including North Korean Ambassador to Kuwait So Chang-sik, but the report did not mention when the five will return home.
The VOA said that Kuwait has also suspended issuing or renewing visas for North Korean nationals and banned regular or non-regular flights to and from North Korea.
