U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has raised the prospect of military action against North Korea, saying that the UN Security Council has basically exhausted its diplomatic options for dealing with the North.
 
Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, Haley said that the U.S. is trying to attempt all possible options, but there are many military choices as well on the table.
 
She said that the U.S. wanted to be responsible and go through all diplomatic means to get the North's attention first, but if that doesn't work, Defense Secretary James Mattis will take care of it.
 
Haley warned that a war would mean the destruction of North Korea, saying that if the North continues with its provocations, and if the U.S. has to defend itself and its allies, North Korea will be "destroyed."
