Defense Minister Says Humanitarian Aid to N. Korea Could be Delayed

Defense Minister Song Young-moo said on Monday that Seoul may delay and adjust its plans to deliver some eight million dollars in humanitarian aid to the North, given the current status of inter-Korean relations.
Song made the remark, in response to questions from lawmakers, during a parliamentary committee session on national defense.
Regarding the redeployment of U.S. tactical nuclear weapons to the South, as a means of defense against the Pyongyang regime, the minister said that bringing the nukes back would not be helpful and stressed that completing the homegrown three-pillar defense system would be the best solution.
