China Criticizes US Indication of Military Option on N. Korea

Beijing stands strongly against Washington’s indication of a possible military option against Pyongyang.
China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang relayed the Chinese government’s stance at a regular media briefing on Monday, when asked about U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley's remarks on Sunday that the UN Security Council(UNSC) has exhausted its diplomatic options for dealing with North Korea.
Lu criticized the U.S. for discussing a new scheme not long after the UNSC passed a new sanctions resolution on the North.
The Chinese spokesman said the most pressing task right now is for all parties to implement the resolution, which reflects the shared perception and will of the international community on how to deal with Pyongyang's growing provocations.
He also said military threats that are being exchanged between concerned parties have been of no help in preventing the issue from reaching its current status, but has instead raised tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
