N. Korean Foreign Minister Heading to UN Meeting

North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho reportedly left for New York on Tuesday to attend the UN General Assembly.
The Associated Press and Japan’s Kyodo News reported that the top North Korean diplomat arrived in Beijing on Tuesday after departing Pyongyang on an Air Koyro flight.
It would be the second time for the North Korean foreign minister to attend the General Assembly after last year.
During his keynote speech at the UN on Friday, Ri is expected to claim that the North’s nuclear and missile development is an act of self-defense to protect itself from security threats posed by the U.S.
