China Emphasizes Diplomacy after Trump's Warning against N. Korea

China is emphasizing peaceful, diplomatic solutions to the North Korean nuclear issue after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a warning of total destruction for Pyongyang.
China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang expressed concern during a regular briefing Wednesday in response to remarks Trump made during a speech to the UN General Assembly.
Lu said the latest UN Security Council(UNSC) resolution on the North took into consideration the universal will and perception by the international community on how to deal with the North, and China hopes countries will focus on the complete and precise implementation and observance of the sanctions.
Noting the situation on the Korean Peninsula is still complex and sensitive, Lu also urged relevant parties to behave in a way that helps ease tensions in the region, indirectly criticizing Trump’s alarming rhetoric against the North.
