Trump Signs New Executive Order Targeting N. Korea

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he signed a new executive order targeting firms and individuals doing business with North Korea.
Trump made the announcement on Thursday at the start of a trilateral meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in New York.
Trump said that the order "enhances the Treasury Department's authorities to target any individual or entity and financial institution conducting significant trade with North Korea.”
He said that those targeted will now have to choose between doing business with the U.S. or with the North, adding that the new order will cut off sources of revenue that fund the North's nuclear and missile programs.
Trump also expressed gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying that China's central bank has told the country's other banks to stop doing business with North Korea.
