3 European Airlines Change Europe-Japan Routes Due to N. Korean Missiles

Japanese broadcaster NHK said Friday that three European airlines partially changed their routes linking Japan and Europe in the wake of North Korea’s repeated missile launches.
Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines and Scandinavian Airlines revised some of their routes that pass through airspace over Japan’s Tohoku and Hokkaido after the North test-fired missiles that flew over Japan.
Lufthansa said the latest decision was part of risk management efforts in preparation for the North’s possible missile launches.
However, aviation experts believe that there is little possibility that an aircraft flying in the region could get hit by a North Korean missile.
The North test-fired missiles that flew over Hokkaido and fell into the Pacific Ocean on August 29th and September 15th.
