Tillerson Calls for China's Cooperation on N. Korea's Nuke Issue
U.S. State Secretary Rex Tillerson has urged Beijing to further cooperate with Washington for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
During a ministers’ meeting among the members of the UN Security Council(UNSC) at the UN Headquarters in New York on Thursday, Tillerson said China needs to cooperate on pressing the North to change its calculations for survival before it is too late.
Tillerson said the North appears to think nuclear weapons will assure the regime’s security, but warned it will only lead it to further isolation, ignominy and deprivation.
