KMA: Natural Quake Detected from Area near N. Korean Nuclear Site

The Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) said that an earthquake measuring the magnitude of three originated from about 20 kilometers southeast of the North Korean nuclear test site in Kilju County, North Hamgyong Province at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
The South Korean quake authority said that it was a naturally-occurring earthquake, noting that no soundwaves were detected to suggest a man-made tremor.
The China Earthquake Networks Center(CENC), however, said that the tremor was measured at three-point-four on the Richter scale and it was due to a 'suspected explosion'. The Chinese seismic services said that the tremor originated from a depth of zero kilometers.
