US Expands Travel Ban to Include N. Koreans
The U.S. has expanded its travel ban to include people from North Korea and Chad, while also placing travel restrictions on Venezuelans.
U.S. President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on Sunday, under which citizens of North Korea, Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen will face a travel ban or travel restrictions starting October 18th.
The new proclamation removed restrictions that were placed on Sudan, and added three nations--North Korea, Venezuela and Chad.
The new restrictions are in addition to countries covered by Trump's original travel ban in June which are Iran, Libya, Syria, Yemen and Somalia.
The U.S. suspended the entry of North Korean nationals into the U.S., saying that North Korea does not cooperate with the U.S. government in any respect and fails to satisfy all information-sharing requirements.
