UN Sanctions Committee Drafts List of Banned Exports to N. Korea
The UN Security Council sanctions committee on North Korea has drafted a new list of prohibited items of dual use that could be used by Pyongyang as weapons.
The list was submitted by Italy’s Permanent Representative to the UN, who chairs the North Korea sanctions committee, and was recently released by the UN Secretariat.
The list of dual-use items pursuant to Security Council Resolution 2371 is comprised of eight groups, including systems, computers and materials.
The resolution, adopted last November, required the committee to produce the dual-use list. Related countries are required to ban exports of the items to North Korea.
