Foreign Ministry: US Sanctions will Help Denuclearize North

Seoul's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday that new U.S. sanctions on North Korean banks and individuals will contribute to joint efforts by the international community to lead the North toward the path of denuclearization.
It added that the latest action is expected to help alert individuals and entities in third countries of the dangers of doing business with North Korea and contribute to strengthening the international community's resolve to faithfully enforce UN Security Council resolutions.
The latest sanctions enforced by the U.S. Treasury Department blacklists eight North Korean banks and 26 North Korean individuals who work for the banks in China and Russia among other countries.
Until now, the Trump administration has conducted five rounds of unilateral sanctions against North Korea.
