S.Korea, US Conduct Joint Short-range Air Defense Drill
South Korea and the United States have conducted a joint short-range air defense drill to counter growing military threats from North Korea.
The U.S. Pacific Command said on Saturday the drill was conducted recently in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, with the participation of South Korea's air defense unit and soldiers from the U.S.' 52nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment.
The Pacific Command said it's the first time the two allies have carried out a joint short-range air defense drill.
The exercise is aimed at shooting down North Korean fighter jets, transport planes and helicopters infiltrating at low altitude.
