US Congressional Commission Calls for Sanctions on China over Deportation of N. Koreans

A United States Congressional organization has reportedly called for sanctions against Chinese state agencies and individuals involved in the deportation of North Korean escapees.
The Voice of America reported on Saturday that the Congressional-Executive Commission on China (CECC) made the call in its annual report released on Thursday.
In the report, the commission urged the U.S. Congress and the administration to demand Chinese authorities immediately stop repatriating North Korean defectors.
The CECC also stressed a secondary boycott on Chinese companies hiring North Koreans, saying that Chinese businesses helping North Korea avoid international sanctions must be punished.
The commission also called on the U.S. Congress to adopt the extension of the North Korean Human Rights Act to ensure the provision of more information for North Koreans in North Korea and China. It also urged the U.S. administration to appoint a North Korean human rights envoy to promote the human rights of North Korean refugees in China.
