Military Says Has Technology to Make Blackout Bombs

South Korea’s military is said to have secured the technology to make “blackout bombs” which can be used to disable North Korea’s power grids in the event of contingency.
A military official said last Sunday that the South’s military has already secured the technology to make graphite bombs, or also known as "blackout bombs." The official said the South can make such bombs at any time.
The graphite bomb, which is a key part of the “Kill Chain” preemptive strike system, is used to paralyze enemy power grids for up to 12 hours by having them explode above power plants. Their development had been led by the Agency for Defense Development,
The military believes that if the bombs go off above large power plants in the event of contingency, the supply of electric power to a significant number of North Korea’s underground military bases will be cut off, leaving the bases vulnerable. The military estimates that the North has more than seven-thousand military bases under the ground.
