Anchor: U.S. President Donald Trump's comments continue to fuel speculation that the White House is looking closely at hardline and even possible military solutions to the North Korean nuclear issue.

Report: U.S. President Donald Trump says that 25 years of talking to North Korea has failed and "only one thing" will work to solve the North Korean nuclear impasse.
Trump tweeted Saturday that presidents and their administrations have been talking to North Korea for 25 years, made agreements and paid massive amounts of money, all which haven't worked. He said that all agreements reached with the North were violated before the ink was dry, making fools of U.S. negotiators.
He then said that “only one thing will work,” without giving any details what particular approach he meant.
Asked by a reporter to elaborate on the “one thing,” Trump only said that that would be figured out "pretty soon."
Trump’s latest comment came after he mentioned “the calm before the storm” after a meeting with his top military generals at the White House on Thursday on North Korea and Iran. At that meeting, Trump urged his generals to provide him with a broad range of military options that prevents the North from threatening the U.S. and its allies with unimaginable loss of life.
Observers say that the “one thing” that Trump has mentioned could be maximum diplomatic and economic pressure or could be a repeated warning of a U.S. military action if the North engages in further provocations.
One thing that is clear though is that Trump has ruled out the possibility of engaging in dialogue with the North, an effort which has been pursued by State Secretary Rex Tillerson. Trump said last Saturday that he and Tillerson “have a very good relationship,” while adding that they disagree on a couple of things and sometime he’d like Tillerson to “be a little bit tougher.”
In Congress, voices critical of Trump’s ambiguous remarks continued to be raised. Some said Trump’s way of speaking, which aims at drawing attention, does not help national defense.
