White House: Trump Briefed on Range of Options to Respond to N. Korean Threats
The White House says U.S. President Donald Trump received a briefing Tuesday from Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Joseph Dunford on various options related to North Korea.
A White House statement said the “briefing and discussion focused on a range of options to respond to any form of North Korean aggression or, if necessary, to prevent North Korea from threatening the United States and its allies with nuclear weapons.”
The White House did not go into detail, but it is widely presumed military options were included in the briefing.
