Foreign Minister: N. Korea Submitted Application to Participate in 2018 Paralympics
Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha says North Korea has applied to take part in the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics.
She told lawmakers Thursday she hopes the North will actively take part in the PyeongChang Olympics as well, recalling that a North Korean figure skating pair has qualified to take part in their event.
Kang says South Korea has drafted a UN Olympic Truce resolution to establish an environment of peace for the games, and she expects it will be approved next month.
She says South Korea plans to mark the adoption of the resolution with a wide array of promotional events.
