N. Korean Official: Nuclear War May Break Out at Any Moment

North Korea’s deputy UN ambassador said Monday that a nuclear war may break out at any moment.
The Associated Press said Kim In-ryong told the UN General Assembly’s disarmament committee that this year North Korea became a “full-fledged nuclear power which possesses the delivery means of various ranges, including the atomic bomb, H-bomb and intercontinental ballistic rockets.”
He said that his country had the right to self-defense as no country except North Korea has been subjected to “such an extreme and direct nuclear threat from the U.S.”
Kim also warned that the entire U.S. mainland is within the North’s firing range and will not escape severe punishment in any part of the globe.
Also on Monday a North Korean official reaffirmed Pyongyang's commitment to developing a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the U.S., adding that the North is not interested in diplomacy until it has achieved that goal.
The official told CNN that although Pyongyang is not ruling out diplomacy, it first wants to send a clear message that North Korea possesses a reliable defensive and offensive capability to counter any aggression from the U.S.
