S. Korea, China Reaffirm Peaceful Resolution of N. Korean Issue

South Korea and China have reaffirmed their position for a nuclear free Korean Peninsula and a peaceful resolution of the North's nuclear program.
South Korea's Foreign Ministry said that the two sides reached the agreement on Tuesday during a meeting of South Korean top nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon and his Chinese counterpart Kong Xuanyou in Beijing.
The ministry said that the two officials agreed to make joint efforts to deter Pyongyang's additional provocations and stably manage the security situation involving the country.
Seoul and Beijing also agreed to work together to make the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics an "Olympics of peace."
The ministry said that the officials stressed the need to swiftly bring North Korea to the negotiating table, using all possible diplomatic means and implementing UN Security Council sanctions.
The two sides also agreed to continue close discussions to come up with ways to resume talks with North Korea.
