Top Nuke Envoys of S. Korea, China Agree to Strengthen Communication

The Chinese government said on Wednesday that the top nuclear envoys of South Korea and China have agreed to strengthen their communication on North Korea’s nuclear issue.
On its Web site, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said South Korean top nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon and his Chinese counterpart Kong Xuanyou had a meeting in Beijing Wednesday and exchanged opinions on matters regarding the Korean Peninsula.
The ministry said the two sides also agreed to realize the denuclearization and stability of the peninsula and seek political and diplomatic solutions to pending problems.
It was the first meeting between Lee and Kong since they were appointed as the countries’ top nuclear envoys.
