Mattis: White House Routinely Rehearse Responses to N. Korean Attacks

The White House has been routinely rehearsing military plans it has drafted in response to possible attacks from North Korea.
Speaking to a hearing arranged by the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Monday, U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis made the revelation, while answering a hypothetical question as to how the president would react when he was told that the North just launched a missile.
Mattis said the first reaction would be the detection of a threat through ballistic missile defense forces at sea and in Alaska and California as well as various radars.
He said the response would also depend on the president, who he said will see a “wide array of options” including cooperation with U.S. allies.
