U.S. President Donald Trump issued a stern message to North Korea, warning the regime not to try the U.S.

"Do not underestimate us. Do not try us. We will defend our common security, our shared prosperity, and our sacred liberty."

During his address to South Korea's National Assembly on Wednesday, Trump said that the U.S. will not allow American cities to be threatened with destruction. 

He added that he will not let the worst atrocities in history be repeated on the Korean Peninsula. 

Trump during his speech sought to contrast the two Koreas, saying that the South's success is the greatest cause of anxiety to the North Korean regime.
