Trump Says He Discussed Military Options for N. Korea in S. Korea

U.S. President Donald Trump says he discussed military options for North Korea during his visit to South Korea last week.

Delivering a statement on his 12-day Asia tour at the White House on Wednesday, Trump said he made the discussion with U.S. and South Korean military leaders  during his visit to Camp Humphreys, a U.S. military base south of Seoul. He said the talks involved both military options and readiness to respond to North Korean provocations or offensive actions.

Trump said that he made it clear that the U.S. will not allow the twisted dictatorship in North Korea to hold the world hostage to nuclear blackmail.

The U.S. president also said he urged Chinese President Xi Jinping to realize that North Korea is a great threat to China, and to use its vast economic leverage over the North to achieve denuclearization.

Trump added that he discussed the U.S. trade deficit with President Moon Jae-in and the two sides are renegotiating their bilateral free trade agreement.
