N. Korea Criticizes S. Korea over Weapons Purchase

North Korea has slammed South Korea, taking issue with Seoul’s recent moves to purchase U.S. weaponry and develop its own weapons.
In an editorial on Monday, the Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) accused the South Korean government of winning Washington’s agreement to lift the restrictions on the payloads of South Korean missiles in return for a pledge to buy state-of-the-art military equipment from the U.S.
The KCNA claimed the South’s military augmentation is raising tension on the Korean Peninsula and hurting regional peace and stability, stressing Seoul's “rash behavior” could spark dangerous military confrontations.
Calling the South an “errand boy” for the U.S., the North’s media warned against the “catastrophic consequences” of such behavior and said the South will only face bigger shame and humiliation.
In a separate editorial, North Korea also criticized Japan for its recent two-day joint military exercises with the U.S., involving three U.S. aircraft carriers.
