U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday discussed the North Korean nuclear and missile threat during a phone conversation. 
 
As he left the White House for a Thanksgiving break in Florida, Trump told reporters that he and Putin had a serious talk about North Korea. 
 
Trump added that he spoke with Putin for one and a half hours to discuss various issues including North Korea, Syria and Ukraine.
 
The White House said in a statement that the two leaders spoke of "the need to continue international pressure on North Korea to halt its nuclear weapon and missile programs.”
 
The White House said that Trump and Putin also discussed ways to bring peace to Syria and jointly fight terrorism in the Middle East and Central Asia.
