'UK Expresses Concern on N. Korea's VX Use in UN Report'

Voice of America reports the UK has acknowledged that the nerve agent VX was used in the assassination of the North Korean leader’s half brother in its North Korea sanctions implementation report.
In a statement submitted to the UN Security Council's North Korea sanctions committee in early November, the UK said that it expressed concern over the use of the chemical weapon which led to the death of Kim Jong-nam during an October meeting of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
At the time of the incident, which took place at Kuala Lumpur airport in Malaysia in February, the use of VX made global headlines because it's a banned substance by the UN.
However the international community has cautiously avoided formally pointing to North Korea as the culprit.
Adopting a resolution expressing concern, the UN General Assembly did not specifically mention North Korea.
It is notable that Britain broached the issue in a formal document submitted to the UNSC.
In the report, the UK urged North Korea to become a signatory of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development Production Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction.
