N. Korea Repeats Criticism over US Talk of Naval Blockade

North Korea has repeated its criticism against the United States over its move to seek a naval blockade against the regime, calling the move a "declaration of war."

The Rodong Sinmun, North Korea's ruling communist party newspaper, said in a commentary on Sunday that North Korea will regard the naval blockade of the United States and its followers as an act of violence against the North's sacred sovereignty and dignity and another public declaration of war.

The paper warned that even a small movement to put the maritime containment into practice will be met by the North's immediate and ruthless self-defensive response.

The North's official Korean Central News Agency issued similar criticism on Friday, saying that a naval blockade is tantamount to war acts.

The latest criticism came after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson recently mentioned the "right to interdict maritime traffic transporting goods" to and from the North after its latest ballistic missile launch on November 29.
