S. Korea Emphasizes Close Coordination with US over N. Korean Issues

South Korean Foreign Ministry Spokesman Noh Kyu-duk has emphasized that Seoul and Washington are maintaining close communication and coordination over issues concerning the Korean Peninsula.
A day earlier, U.S. State Secretary Rex Tillerson revealed details of U.S.-China discussions about contingency plans in the event of conflict on the Korean Peninsula.
He said the U.S. gave China assurances that its military forces would pull back to the south of the 38th parallel in the event of a conflict with the North.
The South Korean spokesman declined to comment on the specifics of the U.S.-China discussions, but promised Seoul will continue to maintain close communication.
