McMaster: Talks Don't Mean Alleviation of Pressure on N. Korea

White House National Security Adviser Herbert McMaster says that Washington’s recent invitation toward the North for unconditional talks does not mean there will be alleviation of pressure on the North or the U.S. will give in to the regime’s demands.
U.S. State Secretary Rex Tillerson expressed willingness Tuesday to sit down for talks with the North without preconditions.
McMaster emphasized such negotiations are not an end in themselves.
The security adviser also pointed out the North frequently uses extortion as part of its policy, and that the only goal the U.S. pursues is denuclearization of the North.
