S. Koreans Earned 22 Times More Than North Koreans in 2016

Statistics Korea reports the average North Korean's income was 22 times smaller than South Korean per capita gross national income(GNI).
Last year, North Korea's economy grew three-point-nine percent, the highest rate seen since 1999 and a recovery from the minus one percent growth recorded in 2015.
Its trade was limited, amounting to six-point-five billion dollars, or less than one percent of South Korea's annual trade figures.
GNI totaled 36 trillion won, or 33 million dollars -- roughly 45 times smaller than that of the South.
North Korea's population was recorded at 24-point-nine million, with an estimated birthrate of one-point-94 children for the 2015 to 2020 period.
