Nobel Peace Prize-Winning NGO Calls for Two Koreas to Join Nuke Prohibition Treaty

A Nobel laureate organization is calling on North and South Korea to join a new international nonproliferation treaty.
Tim Wright, Asia-Pacific Director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons(ICAN), told a Seoul audience Wednesday nuclear weapons are an unethical and merciless tool of massacre.
His organization was given the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for its work to advance the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons to which 56 countries have signed on.
The treaty aims to bind signatories legally to prohibiting and abolishing nuclear weapons.
