N. Korea Re-designated by US for Violating Religious Freedom

The U.S. State Department has re-designated ten countries including North Korea as "countries of particular concern" for violations of religious freedom.
Spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement on Thursday that many people in the world are being unduly indicted, persecuted and jailed for exercising their religious freedom.
The re-designated countries are China, Eritrea, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The department re-designated the countries under the International Religious Freedom Act and placed Pakistan on a special watch list for “severe violations of religious freedom."
