Tillerson: Too Early to Say if Inter-Korean Talks will Lead to North-US Talks

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Friday that it's too early to say whether inter-Korean dialogue will lead to talks between the U.S. and North Korea.
In an interview with CNN, he said he'd have to wait and see what the outcome will be of talks between the two Koreas scheduled for next week.
Tillerson said that President Donald Trump had a good conversation with President Moon Jae-in on Thursday, adding that he participated in the phone call.
He said South Korea's intent is to talk about the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and North Korea’s potential participation. He said the U.S. understands that would be the content of the meeting.
The secretary said "it's a little early to draw any conclusions at this point."
When asked whether the inter-Korean talks could be a positive sign that maybe North Korea wants to engage a little bit, Tillerson said "we'll see."
He affirmed that U.S. policy is the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and this policy is commonly held by countries in the region as well.
