Unification Minister to Lead S. Korean Delegation for Inter-Korean Talks

South Korea has finalized its five-member delegation for Tuesday's high-level inter-Korean talks and notified North Korea of the list.

The delegation will be led by its Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon, and four other members, including Unification Vice Minister Chun Hae-sung and the Vice President of the PyeongChang Olympics Games planning, Kim Ki-hong.

A Unification Ministry official said that South Korea on Saturday proposed the list to the North through the Panmunjeom liaison channel and asked the North to present its delegation list soon.

The official said that the government included vice ministers in the delegation to ensure that more high-ranking officials will lead to working-level talks which will follow the upcoming high-level talks.

North Korea hasn't yet confirmed its delegation members, and Seoul is still waiting for the North's response on the matter.

The two Koreas are set to meet on Tuesday at the Peace House in Panmunjeom on the South Korean side of the border to discuss North Korea's participation in the upcoming PyeongChang Winter Olympics and improving inter-Korean ties.
