N. Korean Media Urges Inter-Korean Cooperation ahead of High-level Talks
North Korea's state media on Sunday called for inter-Korean cooperation as the two Koreas are set to hold high-level talks on Tuesday.
The North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said in an article that the past inter-Korean relations show that efforts by one side can never improve bilateral ties and that efforts to improve bilateral ties can come to fruition only when the two sides work together based upon cooperation among the Korean people.
The KCNA added that the will to enhance North-South relations must be backed not by words, but by practical actions to promote inter-Korean reconciliation and unity, and reunification.
It also said that any move to block inter-Korean contact through unfair pretexts and legal and institutional tools is only a deceptive trick to mislead public opinion at home and abroad.
The two sides are set to hold high-level talks on Tuesday at the border village of Panmunjom to discuss Pyongyang's possible participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
